changes

have happened in our house in such a short time since my last post. Cody is no longer living with us here, he has moved to his father's place in Edmonton. After over 2 years of no contact, we finally heard from him. We needed the break from Cody, his attitude had gotten to the point I couldn't deal with it anymore, never mind the lying and the stealing. So I told his father that he needed to come get Cody soon ... and he was here the next day to pick him up. Cody will be finishing out his school year (basically just exams now) at a new school. Hopefully this is what he needs to get his act together. The move is an indefinite one, meaning he could just be there for the summer, or a semester of school, or the entire school year, or even longer. Whatever works best.

Anyways ....

We are gearing up to head to my big brother's wedding in three weeks. We will be camping for the week in the area with the kids, our only real vacation this year. I love Nelson so much, it is a great place to visit and so much to do there! Plus all my family will be there, which will be nice (well, besides Cody, he really needs the time with his father). Although I really, really, really want to go back to Manitoba this year, I had so much fun last summer!

But it doesn't look like it will happen this year. Work has been tight for Des this year, with very few overtime days, and no bonuses so far this year (although we are hoping that either next weeks pay, or the one after that, will have some sort of a production bonus on it!). And next summer doesn't look too promising, unless we can save up some money to do it then, since Des' sister is getting married next summer.

FOBTY

I am gonna squeeze two FOBTY posts into one ... am I allowed to do that? hehee I am such a blog slacker.

June 4th -my favorite animal at the zoo? well, I have only ever been to the zoo (wildlife park) where we used to live, but my favorite thing to see there was the giraffes. I don't know why, I find them fascinating. Maybe cause I am so short. lol

June 11th -

You Are Sweet

You are easy going and pleasant. You are always happy and upbeat.

No wonder you're so popular. There's nothing to dislike about you.

You are both likable and lovable. In fact, some people feel very passionately about you.

You are simply bliss inducing. You remind people to take time and enjoy life.

omg - two months with no new posts from me?

what the heck is wrong with me? lol

So we have moved, finally. We found a house in town that is nearly 100 years old, and so perfect for us (or at least it will be once they put in the 3rd and 4th bedroom!! It's only 2 for now).

It's so cute and so us. If you click on that photo above, it will take you to the album with all the pictures of the house.

Other than that ... uh, not a whole heck of a lot has really happened. Kids are almost done school, just a few weeks left now. Cody has his last day of classes on the 16th, then three days of exams. Jenna and Xander technically go until the 26th, although the last week is pretty much fun days.

whew

we survived two weeks of Spring Break!! Yeah! The kids have all gone back to school (well, except for Quinten, who doesn't go yet. lol). Speaking of Quin .... TODAY is his FOURTH birthday!! My baby is growing up on me toooooo dang fast! That means we have lived here in the East Koots for almost 4 years! (we moved here when he was three weeks old!). I ended up only working on OT day last week, warehouse guy ended up staying in town. But one day OT is better than none. I just wish that Des could get some OT hours too! Those are nice when they happen.

Spring Break

I knew that as soon as Spring Break arrived, the sickies would leave our house! Two weeks of healthy kids and no school! Ack! And of course, I still have to work in the mornings, and hubby still has to work in the afternoons. And only one vehicle - so we are still stuck at home! I hate not having my car fixed yet! (have to wait for FIL to come at Easter to change my water pump and look at my rad - definitely cheaper than taking it to a mechanic, unless you count me losing my sanity).
Next week, I'll be working some overtime too, which around here, isn't happening very often with the layoffs in the Valley. But my warehouse guy is heading to Vancouver to go visit his great grandma, so I'll be working 8am-1pm (instead of my usual 9am-noon) so that there is someone at work if the boss has to step out of the office. Not gonna complain about the 6 extra hours I'll get doing that on Mon, Tues & Wed. heheee

-----------------------------------------------------------------
FOBTY:

This week, they asked us to tell about our favorite Girl Scout cookie. Well, up here we have Girl Guides. And it's sad - we only have two kinds of cookies! In the Fall, we have our chocolate mint cookies (much like a thin mint G.S. cookie, I am sure). And in the Spring, we have chocolate creme & vanilla creme sandwich cookies. YUM! Almost time for them too! But since I am not a Brownie leader this year, I don't have to worry about selling them. hehehe Guess it also means I don't have to buy a case for myself too. lol
